October 1, 2009
Texas Children's Hospital Feigin Center has been named Best Research Project of 2009 by Texas Construction Magazine. The project will go on to compete against other top regional winners in the National Best of 2009 Awards.
The vertical expansion of Texas Children’s Hospital’s Feigin Center added eight floors to the existing building, creating a 20-story research tower focused on the advancement of pediatric medicine. The project added more than 200,000 sf for research laboratories, clinical research offices and a simulation training center. The new building sets the aesthetic for the institution’s new millennium campus as its tallest structure and iconic eastern gateway.
Other project team members included W.S. Bellows Construction Corporation; Burns Delatte McCoy, Inc.; Walter P Moore; Inventure Design; Peter M. Muller, Inc.; Persohn/Hahn Assoc.; Charles Tapley / White Oak Studio; Michael J. Smith; and Kroll. Photography was completed by Aker/Zvonkovic Photography.
