Texas A&M Health Science Center

Bryan Campus Master Plan and Phase I

BACKGROUND:
In 2007, Texas A&M asked FKP and EDAW to help them create a new campus to consolidate academic programs and administration onto a single campus. It would be a landmark step in establishing the institution as a state and national leader in training health professionals.

STRATEGY:
With an eye towards the development of translational research and patient care, this campus will facilitate that collaboration. The historically theme-based academic village is integrated within wooded, dynamic topography surrounding a ravine. An internal pedestrian pathway interlaces through the ravine and provides the integral relationship between people, nature and the buildings.

TRANSFORMATION:
Phase I - the Nursing and Health Professions Education Center, and Medical Education and Research Building – launches the birth of this new campus and the realization of the vision of the university and the community. Education buildings will be joined by research, patient care and other supporting development.
