TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Feigin Research Center

The Feigin Research Center is the translational research building supporting the two-way transfer between basic science and patient care with the goal of better understanding diseases and to research new methods of treatment and prevention. Phase I of the Feigin Center included renovation for research labs, support spaces, a 10,000 SF vivarium and a conference center. The Phase II expansion project added eight floors including space for research labs, clinical research offices, a full floor GMP space for gene therapies, expanded vivarium space and a new animal imaging center.

The labs in this high-rise research facility are designed on a generic footprint to offer TCH maximum flexibility. Lab assignments can fluctuate in the large, open labs without movement of walls. The design also incorporates a movable laboratory wall system and a flexible casework system to give users the capability of reconfiguration as technology or staff changes.
