TEXAS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
In 2014, FKP was approached by Texas Children’s Hospital to expand the existing six-story care center designed by FKP and built parallel to the 15-story Pavilion for Women designed by FKP in 2011. The 19-story expansion will result in a 25-story tower that will house pediatric inpatient beds diagnostic and treatment services, offices and clinics.
The new tower will initially have 130 beds for pediatric and cardiovascular intensive care and new operating rooms. It will also be the home of the Texas Children’s Hospital Heart Center, relocated from the West Tower. The new Heart Center will include a new outpatient clinic, cardiovascular operating rooms, dedicated cardiology beds and catheterization labs, and is also designed for future growth.
