WEILL CORNELL MEDICAL COLLEGE
Belfer Research Building
Designed by Ennead Architects, the new Belfer Research Building is an 18-floor research building for the Weill Cornell Medical College in Manhattan. It includes research programs dedicated to cancer, cardiovascular disease, children’s health, neurodegenerative diseases, and other bench-to-bedside initiatives such as global health and infectious diseases. The design includes cutting-edge open laboratory design and laboratory equipment and is being used to recruit scientists, physicians, students and patients from around the world.
The building includes two floors of vivarium, an NMR, a BSL-3 laboratory, chemistry analytics, and areas with DMPK and proteomics priorities. FKP Equipment is assisting the client in planning typical and specific laboratories’ equipment and ensuring that the equipment is coordinated with the project design and contactor teams. FKPE is also managing the construction administration and procurement, delivery and installation of all owner-furnished laboratory equipment to the facility. FKPE will continue to plan custom equipment for new researchers as they are brought on board throughout the project and into the future.
