Cynthia leads the Science and Education group at FKP, with broad and deep experience in a variety of laboratories and health facilities from small renovations and adaptive reuse to multi-story research buildings. In 2013, she achieved the highest level of her profession, FAIA, due in large part to her accomplishments in lab design. She has propelled the movement to transform research labs into people-centric, light, color-infused spaces and shares her unique knowledge to continually improve lab environments, advance biomedical research and mentor others.
Her experience includes programming, master planning, planning and design of research facilities, managing projects from initial client contact through construction administration and observation. She speaks regularly at national conferences on the subject of laboratory design and research equipment planning.
Cynthia has served on NIH grant review committees, as well as seven Lab of the Year juries for R&D Magazine. She is a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects.
