Design Team Welcomes Caitlin Lamothe
HOUSTON, TX – FKP Architects is pleased to announce the addition of Caitlin Lamothe as Interior Designer. Lamothe’s hire is part of FKP’s strategy to expand its interior design capabilities for the Houston healthcare market sector. Her role will support project teams designing the new Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands.
Lamothe is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Interior Design and a minor in Architecture History. During her academic career at LSU, she focused on commercial interior design with emphasis on cohesive architectural and interior design. Lamothe was on the project team that won the ASID South Central Gold Excellence in Design Award in the Adaptive Reuse category for the Geo T. Bishop Building in Shreveport, LA.
“Caitlin brings a strong foundation to build her interior design skills,” Kristin Ledet, Senior Vice President and Senior Interior Designer commented. “She’s already shown great promise in her work at previous internships; I’m confident she’s up to the challenge of working on a project as wide-reaching as the new Texas Children’s campus in The Woodlands. FKP is very good about providing new professionals project opportunities like this, that provide intensive training on both the design side and the documentation side.”
Lamothe completed two internships with design firms in both Baton Rouge and Shreveport, Louisiana. While in Shreveport, Lamothe worked on the interiors for the Koran Library in Koran, Louisiana, as well as an ATV and Recreation park in Springhill, Louisiana. In addition to her passion for contemporary design, Lamothe also enjoys film, photography, and the occasional wander through an art museum.
