HOUSTON, TX, April 13, 2017 – For many people, work is more than a paycheck. And in many places, an employer is more than an income tax base. FKP employees routinely cite their direct impact on healthcare improvements as the most rewarding part of their job. And the architecture firm frequently participates in local events such as the March of Dimes’ March for Babies and CANstruction. These metrics helped land FKP to the 2017 Best Companies to Work for in Texas program by Texas Monthly, the Texas Association of Business, Texas Society of Human Resource Management, and Best Companies Group. FKP ranked #11 in the Medium Employer category and is the only dedicated architecture firm on the list.

The 100 companies selected for the 2017 list are known for benefiting the state’s economy, workforce and businesses. Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine their eligibility. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, systems, philosophies, practices and demographics. The second, and most heavily weighted portion, consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

FKP has been named a great place to work in several other programs, including the Houston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work, Dallas Business Journal’s Best Places to Work, and Zweig Group’s Best Firms to Work For list.

“It is such a great honor to be recognized as a Best Company to Work for in Texas,” said Diane Osan, Chief Executive Officer at FKP. “It’s intrinsic to our culture to create an environment where employees can thrive professionally and personally. We work hard to create an atmosphere of creativity; where our employees are empowered to grow, develop and think. But truly, this award goes to the talented team of people who make up our organization. They are the ones who make FKP great.”

The Texas Association of Business recognized the award recipients at the Best Companies to Work for in Texas Awards Dinner and Celebration. For more information, visit http://web.txbiz.org/events/Best-Companies-to-Work-for-in-Texas-2017-427/details or www.txbiz.org.
